A SVI slide gate valve controls the flow of bulk solids or fluids by using a rotating  principle in combination with a sliding gate to regulate, start, or stop the flow.Working PrincipleA  slide gate valve operates by creating a controlled within the valve body to facilitate smooth discharge of materials and minimize clogging or bridging. The primary components include:

• Valve body: Contains the flow passage and vortex chamber.
• Slide gate or blade: Moves linearly to open or close the flow path.
• Inlet nozzle or feed section: Directs material into the vortex chamber.
• Discharge outlet: Allows controlled exit of material.

Operation Steps

1. Gate Opening: When the slide gate is retracted, the inlet material (fluid or bulk solids) enters the vortex chamber.
2. Vortex Formation: Due to the valve design — often with an angled or spiral inlet — the material begins to circulate within the chamber, forming a vortex motion. This helps in maintaining continuous flow and preventing material buildup.
3. Controlled Discharge: The vortex allows the material to flow smoothly toward the outlet, where the slide gate can partially or fully control the rate of discharge. The rotational flow reduces blockages and improves uniformity.
4. Gate Closing: Sliding the gate forward blocks the inlet or outlet, stopping the flow completely. The vortex dissipates, and the valve seals the passage.
